Service Technician / Full-Time Driver

Fred Nava & Son Inc. has an immediate opening for a full-time Service Technician.

Fred Nava & Son Inc is a full-service commercial liquid waste removal company. We have been a family owned and operated business for over 40 years. Our company services commercial, residential, & municipal septic customers. We provide service to clients in Abington, Carver, Duxbury, East Bridgewater, Halifax, Hanover, Hanson, Kingston, Marshfield, Norwell, Pembroke, Plymouth, and Plympton.

Job Title:

Service Technician

Job Description:

The Service Technician position assists in the day to day operations of our full-service liquid waste removal company. The Service Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Navigates and drives to service all locations in a timely manner.
• Maneuvers truck to best gain access to tanks and positions hoses - all while being mindful of the customer’s property.
• Completes the service using a vacuum pumping or jetting hose.
• Completes invoices and collects payments.
• ·Before leaving jobsite, makes sure area has been cleaned up and conducts a final inspection to make sure all openings have been closed and covers are secured. If any cover or lid is missing bolts or cannot be properly secured, immediately informs customer - or customer is unavailable immediately informs the office.
• Complete driver’s logs and reports such as, waste manifests, work orders, and time sheets.
• Completes a daily inspection of any vehicles being operated.
• Ensures all safety requirements are met before performing each job.
• Ensures safety equipment and MSDS sheets are available and in good working order.
• Dumps the waste at an approved dumping facility, ensuring that all local rules and regulations for dumping must be followed.
• Keeps truck & equipment clean. A clean appearance shows pride in your work - and Fred Nava & Son Inc.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Class B Truck Driver Requirements and qualifications
• 6+ months experience operating large trucks
• Valid Class B CDL with Tank endorsement
• Clean driving record
• DOT Medical card
• Must be physically able to drag hoses, hand excavate tank covers, and lift tank covers
• This is a physically demanding position. Candidates need to be able to lift at least 40 pounds and be in good physical health
• A basic knowledge on how septic systems, grease traps, and pump stations is not required but would be an advantage
• Must be trainable on how to operate vacuum truck pump and jetting systems as well as all related safety procedures
• Must have good handwriting, good interpersonal skills and a professional manner
• Must have math skills necessary to calculate invoice charges and sales tax when necessary in the field

Pre-Employment Screening:

• Must meet or exceed the medical standards of the U.S. Department of transportation
• Must complete an acceptable drug screening.
• Note: All employees subject to random drug and alcohol testing
• Must have an acceptable criminal record free of any felonies or crimes relating to drugs, violence or weapons.

Employment Status & Compensation:

• This is a full-time hourly position.
• Paid Time Off after first 12 months of employment.

• Pay range between $23-$28 per hour based on experience
